Day Sixteen: San Juan Islands, WA > Bellingham, WA

We got up mad early this morning and hit the road for Anacortes, where we took the ferry over to Friday Harbor (on San Juan Island). After getting lost for a while (let's just call it exploring), trying to find the port, we found our way to the dock just in time to take a half-day kayak trip around the island. The tour was way rad... we finally got a chance to be in the water and the day was perfect for it. After being on the ocean for the last couple weeks and not getting in it, this was refreshing to finally enjoy the water and see some wildlife from a different perspective.

After tripping around the islands for the day, we got back to the mainland and headed to Bellingham. This place is a great kept secret; it's a hip college town meeting the beautiful waterfront and historical roots. We had dinner at Casa Que Pasa on Railroad Avenue and made it to the beach for a day's ending run with Luna and the sunsetting over the ocean. Oh, and lastly, local Boundry Bay Scotch Ale... lovely.
