Cruising the Coast: Dubrovnik, CROATIA

There's something extremely satisfying about cruising the Dalmatian Coast in the early spring with the sun high, the windows low, and Pet Sounds navigating the way. Dubrovnik is clearly the most picturesque spot on the coast and it seems the secret is out. The terminal end of the Croatia coastline is quickly becoming the hottest vacation spot in all of Central / Eastern Europe. And, well, it's no wonder why...









I was inspired (or perhaps deceived) by the beautiful Adriatic waters and warm sun and promised Kent and Emily I would jump in once we made it down to the harbour... little did I know it would be sub 10°C (50°F). Oh well...

We spent hours walking around the city walls and old town Dubrovnik, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. I split off for a bit to check out the Dulçiç Masle Pulitika (Contemporary Art Centre), and we reset at the Dubrovnik Backpackers Club a few hours later.

















The family that owned the hostel was sweet; old man sat us down for a history lesson of Dubrovnik and then the misses recommended a great seafood restaurant for dinner... back in old town near Onofrio's Fountain. Well we finally made our way to Lucin Kantun, and it was phenomenal! Honestly, it was one of the most amazing meals I've had since living in Europe (on par with the best of Hungary and even Sicily)... local catch, prepared in house by top-notch chefs...

The next morning, we woke before the sun (this is the view from the hostel stoop)... and hopped back on the coastal voyage to Montenegro!
